   Approach the eye

   Leave a short tag for the small knot.

   Thread the hook

   Take the tag through the eye and bring it back beside the standing line.

   Form a half hitch

   Curve the tag around the standing line and back across the returning strand.

   Pass through again

   Carry the tag around and back through the large eye-side opening.

   Bring out the tag

   Draw the tag through this second tuck.
6. 6

   Snug toward the eye

   Draw the small body toward the eye while keeping the tag in its second tuck. Seat the tag against the eye when tying real line.
