Leave a working end
Leave a long enough tail to wrap twice and pass back through the turns.

Bring the end up
Keep the standing part straight while bringing the end alongside it.

Make the first turn
Wrap the working end around the standing part and a finger-sized opening.

Add a second turn
Continue in the same direction, laying the second turn beside the first.

Thread both turns
Bring the end back through the center of both turns.

Bring out the tail
Leave a visible tail beyond the two turns.

Dress the stopper
Pull the two ends to bring the wraps together into a small barrel.
