   Leave a working end

   Allow enough tail for two turns around the doubled rope.

   Go through the attachment

   Thread the ring and return alongside the standing part.

   Wrap around both parts

   Make the first turn around the standing and returning strands.

   Add the second turn

   Wrap again, placing the turn closer to the ring.

   Tuck toward the attachment

   Pass the end between the ring and the upper turn, underneath the returning strand.

   Seat the hitch

   Pull the standing part to bring the turns up against the attachment. Leave a usable tail.

   Seat the halyard hitch

   Gather the two turns and draw the body toward the attachment. Leave the returning tag visible.
