   Start with a loose noose

   Make a loose overhand noose. Its loop is formed from the standing side, leaving a separate short tail.

   Bring the tail around

   Carry the short tail outside the knot toward the open loop.

   Aim into the loop

   Bring the tail in front of the loop, keeping its opening clear.

   Pass the tail through

   Thread the end through the loop from front to back.

   Dress the three-lobed stopper

   First snug the overhand collar, then draw the loop around the tail. The open model keeps all three bearing parts visible.

   Draw up the stopper

   Snug the overhand collar and draw the standing-part bight around the threaded tail. Keep the three bearing parts together.
