   Arrange the two parts

   Place the working end beside the larger host rope. Leave ample length for four wraps and a tail.

   Make the lower two turns

   Wrap upward around the host rope in one direction.

   Add two more turns

   Continue upward to make four turns in total.

   Go around the standing part

   Bring the tail down outside the coils and around its own standing part below them.

   Tuck under the lower two

   Feed the tail upward inside the bottom two coils only, then bring it out between turns two and three.

   Dress the four-two pattern

   Gather the four wraps around the host rope. The return remains beneath the lower two turns and exits between turns two and three.
