Uni Knot
Coil the tag end inside a loop, then slide the knot to the hook eye.
WHEN TO USE IT
- Attach fishing line to a hook, lure, or swivel.
KEEP IN MIND
Moisten and seat the coils evenly before trimming the tag end.
Step-by-step
- Approach the eye
Bring the tag end to the hook eye.
- Pass through the eye
Thread the end through the eye and bring it back alongside the standing line.
- Double the line
Keep the returning section beside the standing line.
- Make a side loop
Turn the tag end down to make an open loop beside the doubled line.
- Wrap through the loop
Pass the end around both central strands and through the side loop.
- Complete six turns
Continue in the same direction, making six turns through the loop.
- Leave a tag
Bring the tag end out beside the top of the loop.
- Inspect the open Uni
Each turn surrounds both central strands. Moisten real line, draw the turns together, then slide the knot toward the eye.
