Attach a lure with a fixed open loop using an overhand, standing-line wraps and a final return.
Also known as Kreh loop, Non-slip mono loop.
The non-slip loop leaves space between the knot and the lure eye, allowing the lure to move within the loop. Start with a loose overhand, pass through the eye, then return through the overhand from the side where the tag originally emerged. Wrap the standing line before the final return.
The final tuck passes through the original overhand opening again. It does not add the extra large-loop pass found in a Rapala finish. Choose the eye-loop size before seating, because this is meant to become a fixed loop rather than a sliding noose.
When to use it
- Attach a lure or fly with an open connection.
- Make a fixed loop directly through a closed eye.
Keep in mind
Wrap count and seating depend on line size and material. Moisten suitable line, draw the knot down evenly and test it before trimming.
Check your knot
- The first return enters the correct face of the overhand.
- The turns wrap only the standing line.
- The final return uses the original opening without an extra large-loop tuck.
